Twelve players on the 2019-20 U19 Green team have committed to play college hockey so far. Of those, six have committed to play at Hockey East schools (DI), three at ECAC schools (DI) and three at NESCAC schools (DIII).

There are four current seniors still uncommitted but are weighing their options and expect to make their decisions soon. Another announcement will be coming once those decisions are made.

“We have a really talented and great group of kids, this is my 18th year coaching Breakers girls and this is definitely the most talented Breakers Girls Team I’ve seen” said U19 Coach Scott Shaunessy. “They are fun to coach because they bring such commitment to the rink every day. Not everyone is super talented but everyone contributes and everyone understands their role. College coaches are not just looking for the most talented players. They want players who understand the game and are willing to play a role because that’s what they will probably end up doing at the next level. I am positive that all 20 players on this team will play college hockey when they graduate. I get calls from college coaches every week about our uncommitted players, which is a true testament to their dedication and commitment. The other thing that is really nice to see is that most of the girls listed below have been with the Breakers since U10 or U12. Like any team and any program, we have had our ups and downs through the years but we have a core group of players who just always had confidence in the Breakers our coaches and in themselves. After all, it’s not where you play that gets you noticed, it’s how you play.”

U19 Green is currently 7-2-1 on the season and ranked #7 in the USA. They continue their season this Sunday with a game against the Bandits in Bridgewater.
